The VIRTUS, Integrated Circuit Design Centre of Excellence was officially opened on Wednesday, 20 October 2010 by Mr S Iswaran, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Education.

In conjunction with the official opening of VIRTUS, a one-day seminar featuring six distinguished speakers from the semiconductor field was held on that day. There are also NTU Library Books Exhibition and upcoming activities held from 20 - 27 October 2010.

The opening of VIRTUS was a great success with over 250 guests from the industry and institutions of higher learning attended the event. There were many overseas guests and speakers who came all the way as far as US, Europe, China and Japan to witness this special occasion.

World's Smallest On-chip Low-pass Filter developed by NTU Researchers is unveiled at the official opening of VIRTUS. This filter project is jointly funded by NTU and Exploit Technologies Pte Ltd, the marketing and commercialisation arm of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research.
